The Abuse Was ignored. Children Paid the Price.
We are a community-led response to institutional failure, shining a light on Britain's grooming gang scandal.
our community are:

The People's Inquiry
Understanding the past to protect the future
Failures around grooming gangs didn’t happen overnight. They emerged from fragmented responsibility, hidden information, and cultures that protected institutions more than children.
There is no quick fix. Only a comprehensive longitudinal investigation into the issue, covering every town and city across the country, will give us a full and accurate picture, allowing us to put a full stop to grooming. That's why we've launched The People's Inquiry - a grassroots initiative to gather the data we need.
The People’s Inquiry is being assembled piece by piece with contributions from survivors, researchers, and local knowledge. It’s evidence-led, public, and designed to stand as a lasting record.
Help us. Anyone can contribute evidence, and we publish ongoing research as the record grows.
Why a grassroots approach?
Institutions protected themselves.
Police, councils, and services prioritised reputation over children.
Survivors were silenced.
Reports ignored. Evidence buried. Voices dismissed.
Communities must act.
Truth and healing now require independent, community-led action.
Our values

Truth
We record survivor testimony and supporting evidence with care and consent, so experiences that were once dismissed are properly documented.
The information is preserved and, where possible, made public to establish responsibility and to reduce the risk of future harm.

Care
We build local support groups that prioritise wellbeing, safety, and human connection.
Our focus is on art and nature-based therapies that allow healing without pressure or exposure.
No one is required to tell their story in order to receive support.

Integrity
We work outside political influence and institutional self-protection.
Our standards for evidence, decision-making, and safeguarding are explicit and publicly available.
Accountability is built into our structure, not dependent on personalities or power.
